Carnival Dream
Published Friday, November 13th 2009 - Updated Friday, November 13th 2009I just got off the Carnival Dream, which is Carnival’s newest ship in their fleet. She’s 130,000 tons and accommodates 3,652 passengers (based on double occupancy). She is the biggest the line has ever built; her sister ship, the Carnival Magic is expected to enter service in June 2011. For a Carnival ship, this was quite upscale and tastefully designed.
The two-deck spa features exclusive spa staterooms with private access and exclusive spa amenities. There are sunning and lounging areas for adults on the upper decks.
They have added a Comedy Club lounge. Typically, cruise lines hire one or two comedians for the week, but Carnival has decided to put a full-time comedy club on the Dream. They will offer up to six 35 minute shows performed by a variety of comedians every night.
There’s a new type of cabin – it’s deluxe oceanview stateroom with two separate washroom facilities. Some have connecting doors, allowing (2) adjoinning cabins to accommodate up to 8 guests with 4 bathrooms. There are some oceanview cabins which will sleep 5 guests. Another new cabin the for the cruise line is cove balcony stateroom. The cove balcony stateroom has a partially enclosed veranda.
The ship includes a WaterWorks aqua park. The “DrainPipe”, is a 104-foot-long water slide that deposits the person into a funnel where they go down the drain ending in a thrilling circular waterslide. Waterworks also has a 303-foot waterslide, the longest in the cruise industry and twin racing slides.
What a “dream” this ship is……!
