Oasis of the Seas

November 10th 2009

The Oasis of the Seas is quite an amazing ship.  This will be the biggest cruise ship ever, at 220,000 tons, accommodating 5400 guests.

There are 7 “neighborhoods” on the ship.

1)     Central Park – an elegant & lively piazza which is a gathering space for dining & entertainment during the day and performances in the evening.

 2)     Royal Promenade – features shops & pubs.  It has a levitating bar that ascends & descends  over 3 decks.

3)     Boardwalk - features an AquaTheater at the bow of the ship with a backdrop of the sea.  They can fill or empty the “stage” of water instantly for their water acrobats and high-diving aerial performances.  The Boardwalk also has a first time ever Carousel at Sea and offers games, amusement and many attractions.  In addition, there is a thrilling experience of a zip-line which runs diagonally across the open air atrium.

4)     Pool & Sports Zone – is an entire deck with multiple pools, rock climbing walls, miniature golf, ping pong, FlowRiders (surfing), basketball court, H2O Zone (water-spraying park).  There is also a Solarium (adult pool).

5)     Spa & Fitness – state of the art equipment.  Enjoy a relaxing massage, pamper yourself with spa treatments – take classes in spinning, Pilates, yoga & Kinesis (full body no-impact workout).  There’s also a Vitality Café with healthy snacks, juices, smoothies and nutritious entrees.

6)     Entertainment Place – here you find a mix of intimate venues offering a variety of entertainment every night.  Shows in the main theatre, hot nightclub, jazz, comedy entertainment and Casino Royale.

7)     Youth Zone – non-stop activities day & night in dedicated spaces with professional and caring staff for the children.
